REGENT THEATRE COMPETITION. WINNERS OF PRIZES. The winners of the prizes donated by the Regent Theatre management for the competition in last week’s screen page were as follow: —J. E. Hulme, 138 Short Street, Masterton; E. Olsen, 15 Albert Street, Masterton; Mrs V. Oliver, Taueru, Masterton; Miss Pixie Karaitiana, P.O. Box 155, Masterton; C. M. Hulme, 138 Short Street, Masterton; M. Johnston, Masterton. Winners are asked to call at the Regent Booking Office, where seats may be reserved. The following is the correct solution showing the missing words. Grace Moor was born in the State of Tennessee. Although she had sung in' church choirs, her first real voice train-
ing was at a Music School. Over the objections of her parents, she went to New York to study for an operatic career and for a while sang for her supper at a restaurant. Eventually she was billed in Irving Berlin’s Music Box Revue. Two years later "Ale made her debut at the Metropolitan in ”La Boheme,” “One Night of Love” was her first film. Melvyn Douglas was born about thirty years ago, son of Edward Hesselberg, internationally known pianist. As a child he followed the fortunes of his artistic father bpt eventually graduated from school and,., joined the’ Army. He began his stage" career as a Shakespe'rian actor but'later stormed Broadway. He went to Hollywood in 1931 and has remained there ever since.
