WINNER OF ART UNION
VICTIM OF ACCIDENT. UNABLE TO WORK SINCE 1932. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, July 26. The winner -of the first prize in “My Luck’s In” art union is Mr A. F. Adams, Hastings Street, Napier. Mr Adams was the victim of an accident while working at the freezing chambers at Tokomaru Bay in 1932 and has been unable to work since. It is only a month since he came out of hospital. He said today that he bought the ticket purely on the impulse of the moment on the Thursday before the art union closed. He did not know of his good fortune until about noon today when a friend with whom he was living arrived hftme with the news that the ticket was the winner.
Mr Adams said some of the money would certainly be used to bring him back to health.
