HOUSEHOLD HINTS
To clean a comb quickly, place it flat in the sink and brush it the way of the teeth with a stiff brush dipped in soapy water. To wash a car, turn on your hose a little, place the wash cloth over the nozzle, then begin the work. You will find that you are able to sluice and rub with one movement. If you have a box hive in the garden and wish to encourage wild bees to stay in it, rub the inside of the hive with peach leaves. The scent of the leaves will neutralise the smell of the timber of which the hive is made. A cheap and useful golf tee can be made by cutting off Jin of small garden hose. Tie on to it a brightly-col-oured tassel with a piece Of lead attached. There is no need to put shoulder straps on your under-slip, instead, sew a hook at. each part on the under-side of the slip, where a shoulder strap should go. Work a number of eyes one above the other on the straps and the slips can be worn at any length to suit any dress.
