BARON TO KNIGHT
FORMER AUSTRIAN MINISTER IN LONDON. (Recd This Day, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, July 25. His Majesty has knighted the former Baron Franckenstein, who is described in the Court Circular as Mr George Franckenstein. A cablegram from London on July 22 read:—A former Austrian Minister in London. Baron Franckenstein, has become a naturalised Briton, the authorities waiving certain formalities normally demanded, in view “of his long and distinguished association with England.”
