GOLD MINING RETURNS The Okarito Five-Mile Beach Gold Dredging Co., Ltd., has issued the following report for the four weeks from May 29 to June 25:—Total gold won, 130 oz 19dwt; total time worked, 4393 hours; total non-working time, 136 J hours; total yardage treated, 24.459, an average of 55.5 cubic yards an hour; average value of ground (on basis of gold worth £4 per ounce), 5.1 d a cubic yard. The Mataki dredge return for the week ended July 24 was 320 z for 133 hours’ work and 10,600 cubic yards.
