Davis Cup tennis players spent the morning getting their rackets restrung and had a fast, light work-out in the afternoon. Quist easily defeated Bromwich, although the latter was ?nuch more consistent than yesterday, not netting, not outing, and losing most points on Quist’s brilliant back-court placements. At the end of the match, Bromwich said: “I feel much better and am going to eat heartily.” In the doubles Quist and Bromwich easily defeated Hopman and Schwartz, but did not play a complete set. On service Hopman won twice, Quist twice, and Bromwich once, and Schwartz lost twice, Hopman not divulging his scores. The Mexicans are expected late tonight.
