Youth Rally.
There was a large attendance at the Youth Rally held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon, under the auspices of the Masterton Christian Youth Council. In an inspiring address, the Rev John Davie issued a challenge to youth to fight the evil of drink. Following Mr Davie’s address, a general discussion took place, and arrangements were made for further similar gatherings to be held in the future. Car Conversions,. The delivery van of Murdoch’s Stores, Kuripuni, which was taken from a garage alongside the store on Friday night, was found abandoned on the roadside at Greytown on Saturday afternoon. The converters, however, appropriated another car at Greytown to continue their journey. It is somewhat significant that a car taken from Waipukurau was found in Masterton on Friday, indicating that their operations had apparently started in the Hawke’s Bay district.
