WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MOUNT BRUCE MEETING. The Mount Bruce Women’s Institute held their July meeting at Mrs R. C. Campbell’s home. There was a fair attendance of members, who before the business began were asked to stand in silence out of respect to the memory of Mrs J. D. C. Crewe. A talk on a trip to the Islands given by Mrs Sinclair was very much enjoyed. Mrs Sinclair was presented with a shoulder spray by Mrs Campbell. The competitions resulted as follows: —Home-made soap, Mrs C. L. Welch, 1; Mrs R. E. Campbell, 2. Knitted article, Miss M. Reader, 1; Mrs C. Wyeth, 2. Blooms: Violets, Miss M. Reader, 1; Mrs C. Campbell, 2. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs H. Christiansen and Miss M. Reader.
