GERMAN FLIGHT MADE FROM AZORES ARRIVAL AT NEW YORK (Recd This Day, 9.10 a.m.) NEW YORK, July 22. The German catapult plane Nordmeer, making its first of 28 experimental ocean crossings which the Deutsche Lufthansa has scheduled for this summer, arrived at 9.42 a.m. taking 17 hours 42i minutes after leaving the mother ship off Horta (Azores). Captain Joachim Blankenberg brought the plane down at Port Washington (New York) opposite the base where the Mercury landed.
