HARRIERS

MASTERTON CLUB While the Masterton Harrier Club’s team was in Hastings last week a junior race of about three miles was held over the club’s course. The race proved a very interesting one, and senior members were enthusiastic over the display of all the competitors. Paddy O’Brien was the individual winner, and he showed the way to D. Cairns by nearly a minute. L. Reynolds was third, 15 seconds behind Cairns. Trophies have been donated for those who filled the first, second and third places. The result was as follows:—P. O’Brien, 19.12, 1; D. Cairns, .20.1, 2; L. Reynolds, 20.16, 3; F. Knott, 20.30, 4; K. Gilbert, 23.15, 5; G. Liddall, 23.31, 6; M. Sunnex, 23.32, 7. The Sealed handicap resulted:—F. Knott 1, D. Cairns, 2; P. O’Brien, 3. In view of the Wanganui club’s visit on July 31, members spent last Saturday clearing the trail, and a slow run will be held on this course tomorrow.
