4 MASTERTON CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. BOOTH CUP COMPETITION. The fourtieth annual meeting of the Masterton Bowling Club was held in the pavilion last night. In spite of the adverse weather conditions there was a large attendance of members. The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr F. H. Dunderdale; president, Mr V. Gooding; vice-presidents, Messrs H. H. Daniell and J. Watson; committee, Messrs G. Hayne, S. Campbell, 'J. Russell, J. F. Roberts and W. Lewis; selector, Mr D. F. Thurston; match committee, Messrs W. Hendry, W. McCullough and W. Lewis; auditor, Mr T. T. Denbce; delegates, Messrs G. Hayne, A. Stubbings, and J. F. Roberts; hon. treasurer, Mr J. Watson; hon. secretary, Mr W. E. Vowell. Messrs A. Stubbings, F. Mills and W. Lewis were appointed board stewards. The club’s delegates to the Wairarapa Sub-Centre were instructed to vote for the elimination of the Booth Cup competition. The club trophy winners for the year were:—Champion singles, J. Campbell; champion pairs, Ewington and Christian; champion fours, J. L. Hughes, D. F. Thurston, J. C. Ewington and V. Taylor; club fours, J. Watson, A. J. Allison, Foster Percy and V. Taylor. The club decided to revert to the old system of running the club fours competition. It was stated that during the year a good deal of work had been carried out on the greens and members could look forward confidently to good playing surfaces during the coming season.
