Schoolchildren’s Excursions.
Disapproval of the principle of allowing- schoolchildren to undertake excursions during the school term was expressed by several members of the Auckland Education Board at a meeting this week. The question rose from a request from the headmaster of,a secondary school in the north for approval of a proposal to arrange an excursion for senior pupils to the Cnateau Tongariro in September. No booking was available during the August holidays. “I cannot approve of pupils being allowed to make these trips during the term,” said the chairman, Mr T. U. Wells, “especially at that time of the year.”
