Miss Marion McAnulty, of Eketahuna, is visiting Wellington. Mrs R. Cleghorn has returned to Ballance after a holiday spent at Auckland. Mrs J. Renner, of Renall Street, Masterton, was a visitor to Wellington yesterday. Mrs W. H. Purdie has returned to Pahiatua from an extended holiday spent in Sydney. Miss Jessie McAnulty, who has been on a visit to Wellington, has returned , to her home in Eketahuna. A visitor to Wellington yesterday was Mrs J. H. Handyside, of Lansdowne. Mrs B. H. Wills and Miss M. Wills, of Pahiatua, who have been on a visit to Sydney, returned on the Awatea this week. Miss Betty Murray, Clarence Bridge, Canterbury, returned to the Dominion yesterday after a trip to England. Her brother and sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs Ross Murray, “Woodbank,” Carterton, went to Wellington to meet her. The engagement is announced of Miss Mary Betty, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs A. J. Murray, “Woodbank,” Clarence Bridge, Marlborough, and George Preston, eldest son of Sir Alexander and Lady Roberts, Lower Hutt. The Parents’ Association of the Wairarapa College will entertain the members of the Board and their wives and the staff and their wives this evening, at the College at a social function. The Parents’ Association is particularly fortunate in that it has an excellent band of lady members who are especially anxious to assist those projects which are put forward in the interests of the College.
