CONFERENCE IN LONDON BUILDING PROPOSAL DROPPED ON ACCOUNT OF ENORMOUS INCREASE IN COSTS By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. (Recd This Day, 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, July 20. It is understood that a conference between Sir Edward Beatty (Canad-ian-Pacific chairman) and representatives of the various Governments concerned decided, owing to the enormous increase in costs, not to proceed with the building of the two Pacific liners recently proposed. The question will be reconsidered later.
