GREAT SPIRIT EVIDENT Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated July 19, 1938. “The auctions are proceeding with great spirit. The market has developed a better tone since the opening. Greasy Crossbreds are quoted |d per lb higher. Slipe wools generally are selling freely with sliped clothing Jd to Id per lb higher. The following prices are current:— Merino, Super, 13J to 14|d; average 12d to 13d. Fine halfbred, super, 56/ 58, 12£d to 13d; average, 12d to 12£d. Medium halfbred, super 50/56, lid to HJd; average, IOJd to lid. Extra fine crossbred, super 58/50, lOd to lOJd; average, 9?d to lOd. Fine crossbred, super 46/48, 9!Jd to lOd; average 9Jd to 9Jd. Medium, super 44/46, 9Jd to lOd; average, 9Jd to 93d. Coarse crossbred, super 40/44, 9Jd to lOd; average, 9Jd to 9Jd. Low, crossbred, super, 36/40, 93d to lOd; average, 9Jd to 9|d. Pieces,-YJd to Bd. Bellies, 71 d to Bd. Locks, 5d to 5Jd.
