FROCKING SCHEME

STOCKINGS MUST HARMONISE. NEW WINTER SHADES. Stockings must harmonise with the general colour scheme of the frocking, and so some new and delightful colour tones have made their appearance to tone in with the new winter shades. Don’t think that the wearing of dull, unexciting stockings will lessen the appearance of your legs. More than likely wearing stockings that are not. smart in colour and texture will only accenuate their heaviness. A new shipment of stockings in the most exciting colours recently arrived from abroad, and, some of the names the smart woman will ask for when buying her next supply of stockings are almost too glamorous for prosaic, everyday wear. Opal is a stocking of cobweb texture to be worn with burgundy and all the purple shades, and its sheerness takes on the effect shade of the frock, with a slightly opalescent effect. Red apple and watermelon have the iridescent sheen that tones with all the rich colours, and Regency glow is ideal for natural and beige shades. For evening, radiant or iris are exactly right for the low-cut sandal, and gpve a misty effect that will add to the fragile appearance of a dainty ankle. Dusk beige is a colour to wear with black for a change, and its dull sheen is a definite contrast to the rose rust made especially to wear with browns and luggage tans. These sunburn colours are also for wear with all green shades, but the duller tonings are better for colours with a yellow shading. Wintry winds do not frighten the smart women when they buy stockings, and two-thread sheers are the most popular for any time or season.
