NEEDED IN EKETAHUNA. HOSPITAL BOARD APPLYING TO DEPARTMENT. It was decided at today’s meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board to make application for. the appointment of a Health Department District Nurse for Eketahuna. The board is to make an annual grant of £lOO towards the cost of the services. The chairman, Mr H. H. Mawley, stated that a special committee interviewed the Director-General of Health and the Director of the Division of Nursing on the subject. After a general discussion as to the volume of work that was likely to be entailed, the committee came to the opinion that the system of having a Health Department nurse at Eketahuna should be given a trial for a period of 12 months.
