BALKAN TRADE
BRITAIN NOT SEEKING MONOPOLY RUGBY, July 18. In the course of the debate in the House of Lords today, Lord Stanhope, President of the Board of Education, speaking for the Government, said that statements had recently appeared attributing to the British Government a desire to eliminate Germany from the Danubian and Balkan markets by diverting trade into other channels. There was no foundation whatever for attributing any such intention to the British Government, said Lord Stanhope.
