We have another CHAMPION on our Staff! PHIL HAWKSWORTH CAPTAINED N.Z.’S BADMINTON TEAM. Wairarapa sporting enthusiasts should be proud of the record of' Phil Hawksworth, the outstanding Badminton player of the Dominion. Since 1934 many provincial and national titles have fallen to him. Particularly . outstanding was his 1936-37 record of winning the National titles for Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Combined Doubles —the only N.Z. player to score such a range of titles. He is the present N.Z. Champion, and recently captained the Dominion team against the visiting Austral- . ians. For the last two years Hawksworth has held the North Island title, and in 1934 was South Island champion. Since 1935 he has held the Singles, Doubles, and Combined Doubles Championships of the Wairarapa, and the championships of Wellington, Hawke’s Bay and Otago Provinces. Phil Hawksworth is a member of our staff, and his services and advice are available to all Badminton players who desire any help. No one in N.Z. is more capable of advising on the selection of proper playing equipment, be it for present players or intending players. We gladly make this offer of a champion’s services to all who desire it. W. H. SAUNDERS QUEEN STREET, , MASTERTON.
