Japanese planes made a sudden landing in the Nanchang Air Field, in which five Chinese planes were on the ground, and set them on fire. The raiders escaped before the defenders had recovered • from their surprise. Japanese fighters engaged fifteen Chinese airmen above Nanchang. shot down and destroyed eight, and sent seven others to the ground, losing only one machine.
