INDOOR BOWLS
MASTERTON CLUB. PAIRS COMPETITION. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club carried its pairs section a further stage last week. Kennard (s) and Curtin are now the leaders, with nine wins and two losses. L. Roff (s) and Jansen are next with eight wins and two losses. Competition is now very keen, and several pairs with three losses each will try to beat the leaders. The following are last week’s results: —Kennard 14 beat Dixon 11, Vincent 24 beat Pickering 14, Edwards 12 beat Ferguson 8, Leigh 15 beat Lewis 8, Davies 20 beat Reeves 16, Finlayson 18 beat Thompson 16, L. Roff 15 beat Hendry 10, Joyce 17 beat Finlayson 14, C. Roff 17 beat Vincent 10, Kennard 23 beat Fenton 10, Edwards 19 beat Leigh 8, Lewis 13 beat Ferguson 11. The games arranged for this week are as follow: —Wednesday: 7 p.m., No. 1, Edwards v. Kennard; No. 2, Davies v. Thompson; 8 p.m., Fenton v. Lewis; No. 2, Joyce v. Vincent; 9 p.m., No. 1, Reeves v. Ferguson; No. 2, C. Roff v. Pickering. Players are asked to note that on Thursday night the club is meeting four teams from the Red Star Club, play commencing at 7 o’clock. The committee require a full attendance of members in order to make the evening a success. Refreshments will be provided by the club.
