AUSTRALIANS AT KANSAS CITY. VICTORY OVER MEXICO EXPECTED. NEW YORK, July 16. The Mexico City correspondent of the United Press states that tennis experts there regard an Australian victory in the Davis Cup match against Mexico, to be played at Kansas City, ras a foregone conclusion. , Owing to the failure, of their luggage to arrive the Australian team, now at Kansas City, have been compelled to resort to playing-squash. Hopman, the captain of the team, however, is not worried. “There is plenty of time to get the men in condition,” he said. “They are up early every day and, after breakfast begin a variety of limb-ering-up exercises.” CONTINUOUS RAIN. NO OPPORTUNITY FOR PRACTICE. (Recd This Day, 1.40 p.m.) KANSAS CITY, July 17. The Davis Cup players have been forced to cancel practice matches for the fourth consecutive day, owing to rain throughout the night. They are hoping that play will begin tomorrow, although showers are predicted.
