SUGAR QUOTAS
DOMINIONS AND COLONIES AGREE TO CUT (Recd This Day, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, July 17. It is officially stated that Australia, South Africa and the British colonies have agreed to cut sugar quotas by 20,000 metric tons, in order to bridge the gap between supplies and requirements for the year ending on August 31, 1939. The contributions of Australia and South Africa are 7,500 tons each, and those of the British colonies total 5000 tons.
