WOMEN’S DIVISION

RANGITUMAU MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Rangitumau branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held at the residence of the Misses Harvey, and was presided over by Mrs C. Macdonald. The competition, a miniature rockery, was won by Mrs Duckett. Mrs Stuart and Mrs Macdonald tied for sepond place. The “wandering shilling” went to Mrs Stuart. Miss Barrer gave a very interesting talk on “World Peace Organisations; What They Are, What They Do, and What They Hope to Do.” Miss Barrer was accorded a vote of thanks by acclamation, and was presented by Mrs MacDonald with a very pretty posy. A vote of thanks to the Misses Harvey for having the meeting at their home was carried. The branch appreciates very much being invited to members’ homes for the meetings during the winter months. The hostesses, Mrs T. McLachlan and Mrs N. McLachlan, served afternoon tea.
