WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT OPAKI. The monthly meeting of the Opaki Women’s Institute was held on Thursday last, Mrs Buick presiding over a good attendance. During the afternoon Mrs Grey gave a talk on “Incidents which happened on my voyage out to New Zealand.’ Two competitions were > held, the winners being Miss Robinson and Mrs Marchbank. The results of the monthly competitions were: —Bottled fruit, Mrs Jaine, 1; Mrs Harris, 2. Nut loaf, Mrs Grey, 1. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs Wingate and Miss Wyeth.
