SIR E. ELLINGTON
MARSHAL OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE. COMING TO NEW ZEALAND - NEXT- WEEK. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A brief visit to New Zealand is to be. made next week by Sir Edward L. Ellington, Marshal of the Royal Air Force. After his arrival in Australia several weeks ago. it was announced that Sir Edward would visit New Zealand and Canada on his way back to England, but a subsequent announcement stated that this arrangement had been cancelled as he had found it neccessary to return direct. From information received in the Dominion, it now appears that Sir Edward, who is Inspector-General of the Royal Air Force, intends to adhere to his original itinerary. The Minister of Defence, the Hon F. Jones, stated in an interview last evening that Sir Edward Ellington was to spend four days in the Dominion. He would arrive at Wellington by the Awatca from Sydney on Thursday, and arrangements were being made for him to meet members of the Defence Council the same day. "It is hoped that Sir Edward will be able to visit the flying training school at Wigram and the air base at Hobsonville,” said Mr Jones. “If this meets with the approval of Sir Edward he will probably fly from Wellington to Wigram on Friday, and on the Saturday travel from Wigram to Auckland by air. Sir Edward has arranged to sail from Auckland for Canada on the Monday.”
