BRITAIN & ITALY

THE DRAFT AGREEMENT INTEREST IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS MR CHAMBERLAIN CLOSELY QUESTIONED By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. RUGBY, July 13. Further questions were asked Mr Chamberlain in the House of Commons today with reference to the date when the. Anglo-Italian agreement is to be brought into force. Asked whether, if the date had not been determined before the House rose for the summer recess, the agreement would not be brought into operation until after the House had reassembled and had discussed the matter. Mr Chamberlain said that he could not give such an assurance in the hypothetical circumstances contemplated in the question. There would, he added, be an opportunity for. further discussion by the House after the date had been determined. He could give no assurance of any earlier date and added that he did not exclude the possibility of calling the House together during the recess in order to discuss it.
