RIMUTAKA TUNNEL

GOVERNMENT CONGRATULATED. VIEW OF FEATHERSTON BOROUGH. (“Times-Age” Special.) Brief mention was made of the proposed Rimutaka tunnel at last night’s meeting of the Featherston Borough Council when the following resolution was carried unanimously:— “That this council extends congratulations to the Government on its expressed decision to commence the Rimutaka railway tunnel and looks forward to the early commencement and expeditious prosecution of the work for which the Wairarapa has so long appealed.”
