ENGLISH TEAM’S TOUR. FEILDING'S FINE EFFORT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, July 14. The Feilding women’s hockey team had the honour of scoring the highest number of goals so far registered against the English women’s touring team in New Zealand in a match played on Johnson Park. The weather was fine and the ground soft and slippery. The superior combination of the tourists gave them an advantage, but they had to work hard for their victory, the final score being 7-3 in favour of England. Feilding opened with a strong attack, the English goalie being called on twice in the first few minutes. England were the first to score, Miss West goaling. Feilding rallied to break away in great style and Miss Bottcher equalised the scores. Feilding continued to harry the visitors, Miss Huggins (goalie) stopping several hot shots, but England soon had possession, raced the length of the field and caught Feilding out of position. From a penalty Miss Naylor goaled for England and'almost immediately afterward the same player scored again. The first spell ended 3-1 in England’s favour. The second spell opened with a good run by Miss Raukawa, who centred for Miss Bottcher to goal. Miss West scored for England straight away, and Miss Wright scored again, making the score 5-2. Feilding again took charge and Miss Storey pierced the defence to goal. England made the play very attractive in the last stage. Miss Fairgrieve scored and then Miss Williams got into position to pass to Miss West, who scored the final goal. TEAMS FOR TOMORROW. Kiwi ladies to play Greytown at Lansdowne: —M. Foster, T. Cole, Z, Pickering, E. Burns, D. Le Forte, M. Hawkins, M. Payne, I. Maxwell, J. Thornton, J. Dixon, R, Attree, J. McAllister and D. Brett.
