Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 30.64. Shade temperature: Maximum 44.3, minimum 34.5, terrestrial 28.3. Sunshine, 2 hours 57 min. Rain, 3 points. Frost, 2.1 deg. General situation: An intense anticyclone covers the Dominion, the centre being over the east coast of the South Island. There has been a slight fall of pressure over eastern Australia. Forecast: Moderate to fresh but decreasing southerly winds becoming variable and tending to northerly tomorrow. Weather: Changeable with passing showers at finst east of the ranges but otherwise becoming fair to fine; temperatures cold with some frosts inland.
