WAIRARAPA BIRD SHOW

HIGH STANDARD SET QUALITY PRAISED BY JUDGES. ADDITIONAL PRIZE AWARDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Wairarapa Poultry, Pigeon and Cage Bird Society’s Show at Carterton was officially opened yesterday afternoon by Mr B. Roberts, M.P., who congratulated the officials on the success achieved at the first fixture. He wished them every success in the future, and said that such shows would do a great deal to stimulate interest in and improve the quality of game birds in the district. In the opinion of the judges the quality of the entries in all classes was excellent and would compare with the quality at any show in New Zealand. The quality of the Rhode Island Reds, Black Orpingtons and White Leghorns was particularly good and the winners in those sections were outstanding. PRIZE LIST.
