“MR MOTO” MEETS AMAZING THRILLS IN FAR EAST FILM.
Current conditions in the Fax- East set the atmosphere for the Twentieth Century-Fox set where the filming of “Thank You, Mr Moto,” second in the thrilling series starring" Peter Lorre was completed. The getting for the newest screen adaptation of J. P. Marquand’s Saturday Evening Post stories is Peiping, China, and vivid excitement prevails’-throughout the entire action. The screen play by Willis Cooper and Norman Foster continues the adventures of Mr Moto as he risks untold dangers to ferret out the an-
cient secret to the hidden tomb of Genghis Khan. Peter Lorre, whose screen portrayal of psychopathic villains both here and abroad has attracted considerable attention, hopes to establish himself permanently in the role. “I find Moto a very fascinating camera study,” Lorre explained. “He is not the usual screen, hero for he is a cross between an almond-eyed G-Man and a miniature ’Phantom of the Opera.’ He is on the side of Right but in accomplishing his purposes he stops at nothing.” Thomas Beck, Pauline Frederick, Jayne Regan, Sidney Blackmer, Sig Rumann and John Carradine are featured in the cast. Norman Foster directed, with Sol M. Wurtzel Executive Producer. This picture is a coming State attraction. The extra girl says: “Married life is like' a bath —not so hot after you get used to it!”
