COLLEGE GAME. MASSEY DEFEATS AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., July 13. , In a hard and fairly bright Rugby match at Palmerston North today Massey Agricultural College beat Auckland University College by 12 points to three. Conditions were vile —a sodden, slippery ground, a chilling southerly wind and rain. WAIRARAPA v HAWKE’S BAY. The Wairarapa and Hawke’s Bay representative teams will meet at the Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon commencing at 2.30 o’clock. The Hawke’s Bay fifteen contains a number of new men who possess good qualities and who will be at their best in order to retain their places in the team. The Hawke’s Bay backs are a fast lot and are great exponents of the open game, so that spectators should have plenty to interest and thrill them. There will be a curtain raiser at 1.30 o’clock be-, tween the Red Star and Old Boys third grade teams. THIRD GRADE TEAM. The following is the Red Star third grade team to play Old Boys at 1.30 p.m. on Saturday as the curtain-raiser to the representative match, Wairarapa v. Hawke’s Bay:—Rutherford, Golder, Cole, Williams, Orsborne (2), Newland, Jorgersen, Wyeth, Prescott, Corlett, Reid, Needham, Levens, Rippon, Jaspers, Campbell, Allen.
