TEAM TO MEET INDIANS. AN OTAGO PROTEST. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 12. A strong protest against the action of the New Zealand Hockey Association’s selectors in their choice of a team to meet the Indian team was made at a meeting of the Otago Hockey Association on the grounds that reasonable consideration had apparently not been given to the claims of Otago and Southland players' for inclusion in the Test team. It was stated that the Southland association had a similar grievance and it was decided to ask for the support of that body in a protest to be made to the New Zealand Hockey Association regarding the. methods of selection. ENGLISH LADIES’ TEAM. EASY WIN AGAINST AKITIO. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, July 12. The English women’s hockey team beat Akitio at Pongaroa, 9-0, on a sodden ground. The visitors were superior in all departments of the game. At Aohanga Station, on the East Coast, the visitors were entertained at a steer-riding exhibition.
