SUCCESSFUL DANCE

MASTERTON COLLIE CLUB . GATHERING. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. Outstanding success was achieved by the Masterton Collie Club with its annual dance, held last night in the Masonic Hall. There was a very large attendance of dancers, who spent a thoroughly enjoyable time. The dance was capably organised and controlled by an efficient committee and, as in other years, proved a fitting wind-up to the club’s successful season. Excellent music was played by the Blue River Dance Band, and Messrs C. J. McDonald and J. McGuinness capably carried out the duties of M.’sC. The supper, which was a feature of the dance, was provide by a ladies’ committee, in charge of Mrs Gordon Laing. During the evening, Mr J. M. James, president of the club, presented the trophies won at the club’s trials to the successful competitors and congratulated them on their achievements. The list was as follows: J. M. James Cup, Mr M. J. Wilton; G. Thomson Cup, Mr G. Thomson; T. A. Jennings Cup, Mr C. McKay; Langdon Memorial Cup, Mr C. J. McDonald; L. S. Nicol Cup, Mr A. Chorley; *M. J. Wilton Cup, Mr C. J. McDonald; G. Thomson Cup, Mr C. J. McDonald. Much of the credit for the success of the dance was due to the untiring ef. forts of the popular secretary of the club, Mr C. J. McDonald.
