MASTERTON GUN CLUB

21 BIRD CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY JACK McKENZIE. The members of the Masterton Gun Club fired the match for the 21 bird championship on Saturday afternoon, all competitors standing on 21 yards. Conditions were perfect and after an interesting match Jack McKenzie proved the winner with 19 birds. He was heartily congratulated by the other competitors as he has been shooting consistently this season and thoroughly deserved his win. W. H. Saunders. A. Warren and C. E. Grey all shot 18 birds and in the shoot off for second position Saunders won. Before commencing the shoot Mr D. McLachlan (vice-president) referred to the passing of the late Mr A. P. Whatman, and reminded members of the valuable assistance he had rendered the club and of his skill with the gun. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect. The leading scores on Saturday were: —Jack McKenzie, 19; W. H. Saunders, 18; A. Warren, 18; C. E. Grey, 18. Also competed: J. Gallagher, K. Ingley, R. J. King. D. McKenzie. H. K. Smith. J. Curtin, K. McLachlan, D. McLachlan, J. C. Smith, L. Meredith and A. Macalister.

Next Saturday the final shoot for the clay aggregate will take place, and on the following Saturday the clay championship will be fired.
