THE DANCING SEASON
SOUP FOR SUPPER. Now that the dancing season is in full swing and parties and balls are figuring every week in your engagement book, you may feel that it is about time you entertained in your turn. If you decide to give a dance one of your first problems is naturally supper. A fashion has been revived which is popular in England and the Continent, which you might well follow, is that of serving soup to your guests before they disperse. This soup is often the most popular item among all the' delicacies and dainties provided. Dancing, after all, is quite a strenuous business, so that the men, more particularly, feel entitled to something more satisfying than trifles at the end of the programme. The most appreciated soups are the plain ones prepared with intelligence and which have an unusually good flavour.
