Mrs J. Swanncy, of Pahiatua, is a visitor to Wellington. Misses M. and G. Smith, of Masterton, were visitors to Wellington during last week. Mrs K. Gaynor and Mrs A. Stempa, of Kaituna, has returned from a visit to Wellington. Mr and Mrs H. B. Tomlinson, of Wellington, were visitors to Masterton during the week-end. Mrs J. Duncan, of Tiraumea, who has been an inmate of the Pahiatua Hospital for some weeks, has returned home. Dr and Mrs Anderson, of Wanganui, were week-end visitors to Masterton. Their daughter, Miss Anderson, is attached to the Masterton Hospital staff as dispenser. Miss Marjorie Flora Malcolm, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. L. Malcolm, “Kinloch,” Waipawa, was married recently at Waipawa to Mr Rupert Clarence Sowry, second son of Mrs E. J. Sowry, Nikau. At Pahiatua recently, Elaine Lucy, eldest daughter of Mrs L. I. Checkley and the late Mr A. F. Checkley, of Hinemoa, was married to George Edmond Arthur Raynell, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A.. Raynell, of Morrinsville. The bridesmaids were Miss Yvonne Checkley and Miss Joyce Checkley, sisters of the bride. The best man was Mr Harold Raynell, Mr Alan Blatchford was groomsman, and Messrs T. Checkley and H. Hind were ushers. ENGAGEMENT. The engagement is announced of Gerard Percy, elder son of Mr and Mrs Railton, Torpenhow, Hale, Cheshire, and Molly Cave, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs T. C. Bannister, Whareama, Masterton. The engagement is announced of Rita Eileen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. B. Wallace, Main Street, Greytown, to Arthur Patrick, only son of Mr and Mrs J. H. Taylor, Palmerston North.
