■» MASTERTON CLUB GAMES. MEDAL COMPETITION RESULTS. A medal competition was played by members of the Masterton Golf Club on the Lansdowne links on Saturday, the best cards handed in being as follows: — A Grade: N. Moore 71, T. Horton, jun„ 71, J. A. Card, 72, L. Kibblewhite 73, H. P. Hugo 73, E. Henderson 73, G. M. Ross 74. B Grade: F. M. Cunningham 68, L. Daniell 71, G. R. Joy 73, N. H. Prior 73. MAHUNGA CLUB CONTESTS. The following were the best cards returned for a Bogey Competition played on Saturday:—l. McFarlane 1 up, J. Morris, J. Urquhart, W. Johansen all square, L. M. Roach, 1 down, G. Wagg, G. R. Ward, W. W. Hendry 2 down, V. Burridge, G. R. Brisco 3 down. Two matches in the quarter finals for the Captain’s Trophy were played during the weekend. G. R. Brisco beat W. Johansen 3/2 and I. McFarlane beat G. R. Ward 1 up. Of the five players playing off to decide the last four positions for the qualifying rounds for the Ladies’ Trophy Competition J. Hosking was eliminated. A reminder is given that the first qualifying round of the Club’s Championships will be played on Saturday next.
The following are the' results of the first round of the Captain’s Trophy competition:—Mrs A. H. Ward won by default from Miss C. Cummins, Mrs L. M. Roach beat Miss Wyber, Miss I. Rudd beat Mrs A. Donald, Miss T. Madsen beat Miss M. Johnson, Miss N. Smith beat Mrs Riddell. A competition conducted for a man’s umbrella was won by Mr I. McFarlane. BIDEFORD CLUB. The following were the best scores handed in by members of the Bideford Golf Club in the qualifying rounds for the Club Championships:—Senior: J. Bell 72, R. Plummer 74, G. Falloon 75, C. Faulknor 77, T. Falloon 78, T. W. Horton 78, H. Budd 80, R. Falloon 80, C. Torr 82, C. Percy 83, J. Donald 83, W. Percy 84, T. H. Bell 85, F. Candy 86, E. Wrigley 86, H. Hill 88. The above qualified for the Club Championship. Junior: A. Kerr 99, R. Smith 99, A. Chapman 104, F. Wrigley 112, G. McKay 122. R. Plummer won the Stableford Competition played in the afternoon with a score of 38. G. Falloon, J. Donald and T. W. Horton were second with scores of 37.
