CYCLIST KILLED

STRUCK BY TRAIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) » ASHBURTON, July 8. Mutilated so that recognition was impossible, a woman was killed instantly by an express train at a level crossing on the outskirts of the town this afternon. Late this evening she was identified as Mrs Mary Kissane, Ashburton, aged 55. She was cycling over the crossing when the engine struck her, carrying the body 150 yards before it pulled up. The bicycle was broken in pieces and hurled into a creek 30 yards from the crossing. Mrs Kissane’s husband is at present in Levin. She had no children.
