The Australian Associated Press says that even if there is no rain in the meantime, a punctual start in the Test on Saturday will be doubtful. COUNTY GAMES. INTERFERED WITH BY RAIN. (Recd This Day, 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, July 3. Rain throughout the country seriously interfered with County cricket. Results are as follow:— Essex, first innings, 176 (Rhodes 5 for 25). Derby, first innings, 3 for 31. The match was drawn. Glamorgan, first innings, 9“ for 307. declared (E. Davies 98); second innings, 3 for 31, declared. Kent, first innings, 166 (Woolley 71), Clay 5 for 64); second innings, 104 (Clay- 6 for 46). Glamorgan won by 68 runs. Hampshire, first innings, 263 (McCorkell 86). Middlesex, first innings, 0 for 5. The match was drawn. Notts, first innings, 9 for 452, declared (Harris 94, Gunn 184). Leicester did not bat owing to the rain and the match was drawn. Northants, first innings, 119 (Pollard 6 for 42); second innings, 174. Lancashire, first innings, 116 (Buswell 7 for 61); second innings, 3 for 178 (Oldfield not out 72). Lancashire won by seven wickets. Sussex, first innings, 327 (H. Parks 114). Warwick, first innings, 2 for 25. The match was drawn. Worcester, first innings, 227. Yorkshire, first innings, 4 for 93. The match was drawn. Pollard is the first bowler to take 100 wickets this season.
