AID FOR REFUGEES

RIDICULED BY SPOKESMAN FOR NAZIS JEWS CALLED'“DEPRAVED RACE" SIX TO SEVEN MILLIONS TO BE ROOTED OUT (Recd This Day, 12.50 p.m.) BERLIN, July 8. Herr Alfred Rosenberg, a Nazi mouthpiece, in an article in the “Volkischer Beobachter” ridicules the Evian Conference on the grounds that it is impossible that anyone could be concerned with such a depraved race as the Jews. He says the Reich is determined to root out Jews and other countries are bound to follow, for which reason the world will ultimately be confronted with six to seven million refugees. He suggests that Jew be granted an African territory, such as Uganda or Madagascar. HOSTILITY EXPLAINED LITTLE CHANCE OF RESULTS AT EVIAN (Recd This Day, 12.50 p.m.) LONDON, July 8. The Berlin correspondent of “The Times” says Rosenberg did not suggest how the Jews are to leave Germany, when they are unable to take their capital. It is feared that the conference will be more productive of an-ti-German propaganda than in finding outlets for Jews, which explains the German hostility. The Evian correspondent of “The Times” says insufficient preparation reveals that the conference has little chance of results.
