CARAVANS OF ART
Two travelling exhibitions of art have been started on their way round France by M. Henri Verne, director of the Louvre museum. Both consist of a number of the finest examples of Dutch art, in which the Louvre is particularly rich. The first train-load has been sent on a journey to Grenoble, Vichy, Macon, Avignon and Montpellier, with works of Rambrandt, Guyp, Van Ostade, Hontorst, Netscher, etc. The second, with works of Rambrandt. Van Goyen, 801, Potter, Metsu, -Van Ostade, Van de Velde, Gerard Dou, has been sent to Cambrai, Arras, Rouen, Rennes, Valenciennes and Metz.
These caravans of art are intended to afford a means for French lovers of art far from Paris to become acquainted with the masterpieces for which the Louvre is famous.
