CRUELTY TO NAZIS
ALLEGED IN AUSTRIA ' TRIAL OF FORMER OFFICERS. LONDON, July 6. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Vienna correspondent says investigations are proceeding with reference to charges of cruelty against former police officers and Heimwehr men who allegedly ill-treated Nazis in 1934, after the death of the Chancellor (Dr. Dollfuss). The police court ht Klagenfurt has sentenced a police major to three years’ hard labour for ordering Nazi prisoners to be flogged with a rubber whip in July, 1934. Two police inspectors who performed floggings were also sent to gaol, one, said tn have flogged at least a hundred Nazis, for two months. /
