BADMINTON COMPETITION. i (“Times-Age” Special.) In the second round of the interclub badminton competition Nomads beat Martinborough by 9 games ( to 3 and 197 points to 161. Detailed results are as follow, Nomad players being mentioned first in each instance: — Men’s doubles: Stubbings and Smith lost to Simpson and Grant, 8-21; Major and Hodder beat McLeod and Beveridge, 21-7; Hughes and Jones beat Gair and Davidson, 21-15. Ladies’ doubles: Misses Kilmister and Stalker beat Miss Ward and Mrs Turner, 15-10; Miss Allen and Mrs Forsyth beat Misses Collier and Mitchell, 15-8; Misses Andrews and Stubbings beat Misses Hall and Kershaw, 17-15. Combined doubles: Miss Kilmister and Stubbings lost to Miss Ward and Grant, 10-21; Miss Stalker and Major lost to Miss Mitchell and Simpson, 6-21; Miss Allen and Hodder beat Mrs Turner and McLeod, 21-10; Miss Andrews and Smith beat Miss Collier and Gair, 21-8; Mrs Forsyth and Hughes beat Miss Kershaw qnd Davidson, 21-11; Miss Stubbings and Jones beat Miss Hall and Beveridge, 21-14. PERSONAL ITEMS. Mrs Webb, of Grey Street, is. an inmate of Greytown Hospital, where she is to undergo an operation. Miss Mavis Montgomerie, of Greytown, is the guest of Mrs Preston Hayman. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT. The Radio Club’s euchre tournament, which was held in the club rooms last' evening, was well attended. The winners were: Ladies, Mrs Grimstone 1, Mrs Apro 2. Men: Mr Haines 1, Mr Manihera 2.
