One of the finest specimens of kiwi ever found in the North was brought to Whangarei, having been caught by a dog at Parua Bay and killed before the owner of the dog could save it. It is intended to send the bird, which is about Ift. in height and has a beak sin. in length, to the Department of Internal Affairs to be stuffed and mounted, when it will be returned and placed on show at the Whangarei Museum. It is hoped to gain permission to display the bird at the Winter Show before sending it to the Department.
