BRIDEGROOM DISAPPEARS. A TIMARU MYSTERY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 4. The honeymoon of Mr and Mrs Tertius Munro McKinnon, Kurow, North Otago, terminated on Saturday night when the bridegroom mysteriously disappeared from the Empire Hotel, Timaru, where they were staying, and up till a late hour tonight he had not been found. He is a son of Mr A. H. McKinnon, a prominent Kurow sheepfafmer. The couple were married at Oamaru last Tuesday and, after the wedding, left on their honeymoon for Christchurch, where they stayed until Saturday. They returned to Timaru on Saturday by private car and booked in at the Empire Hotel for the night.

After dinner Mr McKinnon appeared distressed, and his wife advised him to see a doctor. He had previously received medical treatment for nervous trouble. Mrs McKinnon offered to accompany him to the doctor, but he expressed a desire to go alone, telling his wife that he would return and meet her at the hotel. He left the hotel about eight o’clock and has not so far been traced. When Mr McKinnon failed to return to the hotel anxiety was felt for his safety, and a description of him was circulated to various police stations and was broadcast, but without any clue to his whereabouts being obtained. The missing man is 26 years of age, sft Ilin tall and of strong build. He has dark hair, a fresh complexion and grey eyes. When he left the hotel he was wearing a blue suit with a fine red stripe, slate grey hat, black shoes and light fawn check overcoat with a belt.
