Mrs M. J. Beech, of Mangahao, has Miss M. Lynch as a guest.

Mrs, Jackson, of Wellington, is on a visit to Mrs A. Wylie, of Nikau. Mrs R. Banks, of Island Bay, is on a visit to “Arohunui,” Hinakura. Miss B. Johnston, of Pongaroa, has been the guest of Mrs W. Barrett, of Pahiatua.

Mrs H. Williams, Masterton, is visiting Wellington, and is staying at the Royal Oak Hotel. Miss Beth Chamberlain, of Masterton, has left on a holiday to be spent in Hawke’s Bay. Prior to severing her connection with the firm of Messrs J. Graham and Co., after several years’ service, Miss Chamberlain was presented with a travelling rug and suit case by her employers and the staff, respectively. Hearty good wishes were extended to Miss Chamberlain for her future welfare.

Friends of Miss Barbara Baird met recently at “Otahuna,” Masterton, when Miss Margaret Pearce gave a luncheon and bridge party at her home in honour of Miss Baird, who was married on Saturday. Miss Pearce wore a frock of saxe blue wool crepe; her mother, Mrs A. C. Pearce, wore a frock of navy wool georgette, and Miss Baird wore an ensemble in pale green wool. Those present were Misses Josie Hosking, Jocelyn Hornabrook, Barbara Barton, Patricia Jordan, Jean Hooper-Smith (Darinevirke); Aila Beetham, Marjorie Bloxham, June' Matthews, Peggy Sellar and Helen Gibb.
