JOCKEY’S DEATH

HIT BY MOTOR CAR. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 1. Fatal injuries were received by Lawrence William Pepperill, aged 18, jockey, when he was struck by a car driven by Thomas E. Roberts, solicitor. Patea, near Hawera tonight. Pepperill was taken to Hawera Hospital with a fracture of the base of the skull and died about an hour later.
