AUSTRALIANS BEAT WAIKATO. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, June 30. In a fast and exciting display of badminton, Australia beat Waikato by 8 games to nil.' Play was of a high standard. R. Lewis, Waikato and Auckland champion, was in fine form and demonstrated the best stroke production of all. Harper’s severe smashing was superb. Miss Edmondson played very well and Miss Robert was clearly better than Miss Hewitt, Mrs Fow made top many mistakes. Results are 2 as follows, Australian names being mentioned first: R. J. Harper Beat H. H. Fow, 15/7, 15/9; B. J. Tonkin beat R. Lewis, 15/13, 11/15, 15/11; Miss E. Robert beat Miss M. Edmondson, 14/13, 11/5; Miss I. Hewett, beat Mrs H. Fow, 11/9, 12/11; Harper and Tonkin beat Fow and Lewis, 15/3, 15/13; Misses Robert and Hewett beat Mrs Fow and Miss Edmondson,13/18, 15/12, 15/9; Tonkin and Miss Robert beat Fow and Mrs Fow, 15/1, 16/17, 15/12.
